AYSO Region 120: Bad Hair Day earns win to open playoffs

Bad Hair Day had a good day in the opening game of the playoffs,
earning a 3-1 victory over the Lime Devils in an AYSO Region 120 girls
under-12 soccer game on Saturday.
Cori Patelski scored two goals and Taylor West had one.
Strong defense was provided by Diana Gonzalez and Jamie Surdykas.
Paige Wallace and Bridget Gleason made key stops in the net.
In boys under-13 Costa Mesa APP action:
* Thunderhawks 5, Aliso Viejo 2 - Hayden Hiatt, Caleb Burgess and Luis
Cozza scored goals to give the Thunderhawks a 3-1 halftime lead. Austin
Evett scored in the second half and Benny Edles stormed through the Aliso
Viejo defense to score a shorthanded goal to seal the win. The offense
was supported by Starnes Arnold, Matt Grella and Alberto Nava. Thomas
Kosnosky played well as goalkeeper and received defensive support from
Ben Abbott, kenneth Zich and Adam Seagondollar.
In boys under-10 action:
* Team Quicksilver 1, Team Comets 1 - Rigoberto Perez scored an early
goal for Team Quicksilver with support from Jonathan Miranda, Robert
Blackwell and Jose Hidalgo on Saturday. Goalkeepers Scott Wagner, Andrew
Roth and Kohl Jones stayed strong to preserve the tie. Scott Alvarado,
Cody Childers, Tyler Schiltz and Devin Guthrie also contributed to Team
Quicksilver’s effort.
* Team Quicksilver 3, Golden Dragons 2 - Roth scored the first goal
with support from Guthrie, Wagner and Blackwell on Nov. 1. Perez added a goal, but the Golden Dragons answered with two goals to tie the score,
2-2. Stong play from Schiltz, Childers and Hidalgo kept the game tied
until Miranda scored the game-winner in the final minutes.
* Wolverines 0, Galaxy 0 - Eduardo Espinoza and David Nava were strong
in the net whil Marc Jones, Jose Espinoza and Robert Rutan were solid on
defense. Evan Edison, Kevin Kiser, Ryan Barnett and Marc DeFrenza
contributed on offense.
