Youth water polo: Girls youth team finishes first

Corona del Mar teams competed in the Southern California youth
water polo championships at Long Beach State during the last two
weekends.
The 14-and-under girls team finished first in their division. In the
final game, the team beat the Riverside Outsiders, 6-2. Ashely Chandler
was player of the game with three goals. Also scoring for CdM were Holly
Heil, Calli Manderino and Breanna Duplisea. Playing goaltender in the
final game was Chelsea Lyman with six saves. Amy Zucker and Kellie Wolfe
contributed on defense.
The 14-and-under boys placed second in their bracket as did the
12-and-under boys and girls team. The 10-and-under mixed team from CdM
earned an honorable mention.
