Men’s golf: Anteaters take seventh

UC Irvine men’s golf team finished seventh out of 20 teams in The
Prestige at Palm Desert that concluded Tuesday on the Firecliff course at
the Desert Willow Golf Resort.
The University of Washington won the 54-hole tournament with a score
of 844, five shots ahead of second-place finishers Kansas and Colorado.
UC Irvine finished with 860 strokes at the end of the two-day tournament.
Dustin Bray of North Carolina and Brock MacKenzie of Washington tied
for first with 54-hole totals of 13-under-par 203.
UC Irvine junior Mike Lavery tied for 15th at 4-under 212, including a
6-under 66 in the second round.
Junior Jeff Coburn (213) tied for 19th, including a final round of
3-under-par 69.
Junior Ryan Armstrong (216) tied for 30th place, sophomore Brandon
Murray (226) tied for 76th and senior Kevin Stevens (230) tied for 88th
place.
The Anteaters return to action in the 49er Collegiate Classic at the
Pacific Palms Industry Hills Resort Thursday and Friday.
