center behind Jack in the Box on East 17th Street and Tustin Avenue in
Costa Mesa. Participating merchants include Bassinets & Blueberries with
selected merchandise reduced 50%; Blue Springs, Ala. with 20% to 50% off
Shabby Chic; Flare, whose clothing for women has huge discounts; Home and
Garden, which is offering blowout prices; Summerhill Floral and Gifts,
which is having a clearance sale; Twice the Style, which is offering low
prices on consignment clothing; and Bow Danglers Boutique, whose washable

Another summer sidewalk sale is at Newport North Center in Newport
Beach. The center is filled with merchants, restaurants and
service-related businesses that are participating in the event. Newport
North Center is at MacArthur Boulevard and Bison Avenue in Newport Beach.
Peter Glenn of Vermont is having an end of the summer sidewalk sale
through Sunday. On sale are women’s sportswear reduced 20% to 50%, men’s
sportswear reduced 20% to 50%, and wetsuits and rash guards reduced 20%.
There’s also a buy-one-get-one-at-half-price offer on select skate

The “Sundays on Superior” sale is a gathering of antique and vintage
dealers selling treasures from around the world. Urban Refurban has just
received a new shipment from New Orleans with decorative ironwork,
European wash basins, dough bowls and decorative items. The sale
coincides with the grand opening of The River’s Edge, which specializes

Global Passport celebrated its grand opening Thursday of its first
ever location at South Coast Plaza. The 4,500-square-foot boutique
carries the largest selections of island resort wear in Southern
California, featuring high-end apparel, home accessories and gifts. Its
selection of gift items includes a large assortment of hand-carved Koa
wood bowls from Hawaii. Global Passports carries apparel items designed
by Tommy Bahama, Axis, Tori Richards, Riscatto and Zanella. The custom
interior designer of the store, designed by Global Passport co-owner
Linda Beale, features an English Caribbean theme.
Garys Island will having a trunk show from noon to 4 p.m. today,
featuring Island slippers from Hawaii. The event will include live
entertainment from Al Patton and a drawing to win free men’s and women’s
