Watch the bouncing ball. Basketball and Africa are an unlikely
combination in “The Air Up There,” featuring Kevin Bacon, part of the
Newport Dunes Resort’s Free Family Flicks series at dusk tonight. The

See the Bard of Springfield. Rick Miller will bring “The Simpsons” to
life at the Irvine Barclay with “MacHomer,” a retelling of Shakespeare’s
“MacBeth.” Show times are 2 and 8 p.m. today and 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday. The

MONDAY
Analyze the art of Newport youth. Artwork by students from Newport
Harbor High School will be exhibited through the end of August at the
Newport Beach Central Library’s Teen Center, 1000 Avocado Ave. The works

Listen to the flair of flamenco. Solo guitarist Ken Sanders performs
classical flamenco tunes at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Sundays at Carmelo’s

WEDNESDAY
Look at how artists define themselves. “Portrait of the Artist,” an
exhibit of works from the Orange County Museum of Art’s collection
exploring questions of self and identity in 20th century American art,
