The Farrelly brothers have accomplished quite a feat in “Osmosis
Jones.” They grossed-out my teenage boys. Derek and Sean both agree that
“the non-animated parts of this film with Bill Murray and Mollie Shannon
were crude and disgusting.”
I too cringed and groaned whenever Bill Murray appeared on screen as
Frank, an aging single father with deplorable eating habits.
Sean thought, “Bill Murray played his part well.” He did if his
intention was to create an offensive grease-soaked character that
moviegoers could almost smell.
We also agree that the animated portion of the film directed by Piet
Kroon and Tom Sito was clever, funny and exciting. “Osmosis Jones”
reminded Derek of “a schizophrenic man whose one personality is
laugh-out-loud funny and the other is incredibly dull and disgusting.” If
you need motivation to better your eating habits see this movie,
otherwise pass.* SEAN RUHLAND, 12, is a seventh-grader at Marine View
