CORONA DEL MAR - Season Meservey, who helped the Corona del Mar
High girls cross country team win Pacific Coast League, CIF Southern
Section Division IV and CIF State Division IV titles last fall, confirmed
Thursday she will transfer to Santiago High in Corona for the upcoming
season.
Meservey, who transferred to CdM from Aliso Niguel before her
sophomore year, was a valuable member of Bill Sumner’s team last year.
She finished fifth at league finals, 13th at Southern Section finals and
11th at state finals. She was the second CdM runner to finish at league
and state finals and was the Sea Kings’ third-fastest competitor at the
section finals.
“I’m going to miss Coach Sumner and all the girls I have run with,”
said Meservey, who added she will be the lone senior at Santiago, which
she said has only been open for two years.
Meservey also said her younger sister Stacy, a sophomore, plans to run
at Santiago.
Stacy was a varsity basketball reserve last year at CdM and Season
played varsity basketball as a sophomore at CdM. Both plan to play
basketball at Santiago.
