1. Follow the bargains. A special members-only book sale preview
hosted by Friends of the Newport Beach Library will take place from 1 to
5 p.m. Friday at the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave.,
Newport Beach. Hard-cover books will be priced at two for $1, paperbacks

2. Who wants to be a millionaire? Certified financial planner and
author Ed Dzwonkowski will discuss his book, “How You Can Become A
Millionaire: Your Lifetime Guide for Building and Achieving Financial
Independence,” at 2 p.m. Saturday at Borders Books, Music & Cafe, South

3. Curious about the wetlands? Children 6 to 12 are invited to Upper
Newport Bay Nature Preserve’s Wonderful Wild Wetlands, part of the
preserve’s summer program. The event will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday
at the Peter and May Muth Interpretive Center, 2301 University Drive,
Newport Beach. Admission for each child is $7, and children must be
accompanied by an adult.
