Obituary
James Bruce Berry, a former Costa Mesa resident who lived in the
community for 65 years, died July 25 in Sun City of cancer. He was 80.
Mr. Berry was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Forgan, Okla. He moved to Costa
Mesa with his parents and five siblings in 1936.
He worked as a plumbing contractor in Orange County and, in 1967,
purchased Award Motors, a motorcycle dealership on Newport Boulevard that
he and his wife, Nancy, operated until 1981.
He is survived by his wife, daughters Dianne and Debbie, son Jim,
grandsons Matt and Chris, sisters Joan and Louise, and brother Bill.
A private memorial service will be held. Contributions may be made to
the Hospice of the Valleys in Sun City.
