Softball: Newport All-Stars qualify for 15U nationals.

NEWPORT BEACH - The Pacific Coast Bobby Sox 15-and-under All-Star

team have not only qualified for this year’s National Bobby Sox All-Star

Tournament, but will host this year’s event, beginning today at Bonita

Creek Park.

The locals will play at 1 p.m., but the tournament will kick off at 9

a.m. and will continue through Monday afternoon.

Teams from throughout the western portion of the country, including

California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii will be competing this weekend at

Bonita Creek.

Newport qualified for nationals by winning the West Anaheim Regional

All-Star Tournament against East Anaheim and Tustin.
