Steve and Jeanette Early of Huntington Beach were awarded the Best of
Show and Best Interior honors for their 1956 GMC Suburban truck during
the recent Top Banana Pre-Father’s Day Classic Car Show and Fest at the
Orange County Market Place in Costa Mesa. . . . Edison High School junior
Jodi Jones was awarded the Girl Scout Gold Award last month. This is the
Girl Scout’s highest honor. She volunteered more than 120 hours to Hoag
Hospital’s Pediatric Ward and constructed 75 activity kits for three
different age groups. Each kit was labeled and designed with her own
artwork. . . . Marine Corps Pvt. Anthony R. Quartney, a 2000 graduate of
Huntington Beach High School, completed basic training at Marine Corps
Recruit Depot in San Diego. He is the son of Lari L. Connolly of Fountain
Valley and Brad R. Quartney of Laguna Hills. . . . Shoshana Garisek of
Huntington Beach graduated from Gettysburg College on May 19 with a
bachelor’s degree in anthropolitical science/sociology.
