DISH OF THE DAY: What’s a fair without a fresh, slow-roasted ear of
corn? For $2.75, you can have this scrumptious treat of nature, which
until you slather on the butter is good for you too. There is also a wide
array of toppings, such as salt, pepper, hot sauce, chili powder, garlic
salt and lemon pepper. The Fresh Roasted Corn stand is on Livestock Lane,
across from the Brews Blues.
BARGAIN OF THE DAY: Keep cool with several varieties of
battery-operated Beach Amigos, a refreshing water spray bottle and fan
all in one. For $5, they can be found at C.R. Toyz at the end of the
Parade of Products, next to Centennial Way.
EVENT OF THE DAY: Watch Charlie Keeling turn liquid glass into
exquisite vases and baubles during one of his glass-blowing
demonstrations. At the end of the Collectors Corner on Memorial Way,
Keeling holds demonstrations at 12:30, 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: “Whoa -- it’s a long way down,” said Jessie
Knighten, 10, as she looked back after reaching the top of the stairs for
