Newport Beach police arrested a 20-year-old Riverside man on suspicion

of assaulting another man with a beer bottle at a party early Sunday

morning, officials said.

Marcos Pena Osorio was at a party in the 800 block of West Oceanfront

when he became involved in an argument with 31-year-old Noel Roberts of

Newport Beach, Lt. Doug Fletcher said.

Osorio reportedly hit Roberts on the head with the bottle and ran out

of the house, Fletcher said. Police caught up with Osorio and arrested

him on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon at the corner of Coast

Highway and Newport Boulevard, he said. Roberts was not seriously

injured.

Osorio is being held in Newport Beach jail with bail set at $50,000.
