Pet of the week

A 9-week-old, neutered male tabby will be available for adoption this

weekend at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.

The orange-colored kitten has a droopy, red eyelid because he needs

reconstructive eye surgery, which will be done within six months and paid

for by the Newport Beach-based Community Animal Network.

The animal-rescue organization needs old towels and sheets, dog

crates, pet carriers and people to drive animals to local veterinarian

appointments and foster homes. A laptop computer also is needed to help

better manage operations.
