Airport Debate

Great Park can be built at John Wayne
The answer to this Great Park debate seems obvious. There’s a group
that feels that our county needs a Great Park -- not two airports.
There’s another group that believes that, to accommodate the growth in
our county, we need an international airport. Both groups can have what
they want.
From all that I’ve read and seen of the El Toro facility, it can
handle all the air traffic needs of our county without having to impose
eminent domain on any businesses or residents. We can then use the
current John Wayne site to build a Great Park. I think the terminal would
make a perfect library or museum. A win win.

Enlarge El Toro, not John Wayne or LAX
In 1994, Orange County voters voted that an airport is the best reuse
plan for the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. I believe this is the only
viable alternative to the former marine base.
Upon passage of Measure A, South County squandered millions and
millions of taxpayers’ dollars on propaganda in hopes of killing El Toro
which, as a result, will force JWA to expand and ruin our quality of
life. Their propaganda is full of half-truths and lies and is unwanted
and unneeded in my mailbox, yet they continue to send it to my home.
Meanwhile, the schools and many cities’ needs are put on hold because
South County will do whatever it takes to persuade the public a Great
Park is for our future needs.
The Orange County voters need to protest South County’s attempt to
overthrow our local government. Let’s stop the madness and spending
frenzy. We need to take this issue to a federal level.
Expand LAX=No.
Expand JWA=No.
Expand El Toro=Yes.
It fits.
