Softball: Ice Breakers sweep past Mission del Norte

MISSION VIEJO - The Pacific Coast Bobby Sox Ice Breakers, a girls
15-and-under squad won both games of a doubleheader last weekend, 9-5,
and, 7-3, against Mission del Norte.
In the opener, consistent pitching was led by Darcy Pennington and
Kelly Pfeifer, while Lauren Gega and Amie Benjamin led the offense.
Benjamin had two doubles and five RBIs, while Gega added a double and
two RBIs.
In the nightcap, Alex Shitanishi and Kaitlyn McDonald each made
stellar plays on defense, while solid, all-around play was turned in by
Jessica Duggan and Sara Casino.
In girls Division 11 action:
Red Rage 7, Babes in Blue 4 - Adele Debatz, Lauren Tolfa, Katy Bekken,
Kate Baldoni and Ali Apgar each had key hits to spark the Rage.
The pitching combination of Rene Mycorn and Elena Redelshelmer held
the Babes to only four runs, while solid defensive plays were made by
Annabel Farber, Brook Peterson and Deanne Donato.
