1:20 p.m. Thursday.

* South Coast Drive: An assault was reported in the 1500 block at 4:56

p.m. Thursday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Newport Center Drive: An attempted purse snatching was reported at

the Bloomingdale’s parking lot at 2:33 p.m. Thursday.

* Seashore Drive: Jewelry worth $29,500 was reported stolen from a

home in the 6300 block at 9:13 a.m. Thursday.

* Von Karmen: A cell phone was reported stolen in the 4400 block at

12:40 p.m. Thursday.
