COSTA MESA - Costa Mesa High senior offensive linemen Charlie
Amburgey and Scott Schepens will continue their football careers at
Division III schools, they have announced.
Amburgey, a 6-foot-1, 245-pounder who earned first-team All-Pacific
Coast League honors while playing guard and tackle for the Mustangs, will
play at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash.
Schepens, a second-team All-PCL center, will play at Chapman
University.
Amburgey, a second-team all-league choice on offense as a junior, said
he chose Puget Sound over Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Ore. and
Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.
Amburgey, who also played basketball and baseball this year, is
undecided on a major, but will graduate in June with an estimated 3.7
GPA.
Schepens, 5-11, 230, said he will major in history and education as a
Panther. He owns a 3.7 GPA.
