Santa Ana Army reunion set for Saturday
The Costa Mesa Historical Society will sponsor the 26th annual reunion
of the Santa Ana Army Air Base Wing beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at
Orange Coast College.
Though last year was supposed to be the last reunion, the group was
lucky enough to be able to gather again, said Bud Anderson, the reunion
chairman.
The Santa Ana Army Base Wing was the largest of three aviation cadet
classification and preflight centers in the United States during World
War II.
About 150 veterans are expected to attend the event, which requires a
$10 registration fee to pay for festivities. The luncheon part of the
program is sold out, Anderson said.
