WORKING -- MARK MCGUCKIN
HE IS
Helping people meet their dreams
EXPERIENCE
Mark McGuckin, 59, has worked as a real estate broker with the Brokers
Group in Huntington Beach for the past 15 months. He has been in the
profession for 26 years.
“I was a district manager for the Long Beach Press Telegram but I
always liked what my uncle and aunt did . . . they were brokers,”
McGuckin said. “I just liked the way they helped people to have a nice
place to live in.”
HOME GROWN
A resident of Huntington Beach for 31 years, McGuckin started his
career with Century 21 in Huntington Beach as a sales agent but said he
became a broker because they have more real estate experience and
knowledge than sales people.
As a broker, you have more flexibility,” McGuckin said. “The broker is
able to be more negotiable with clients because they don’t have to answer
to anyone when it comes to being flexible on price.”
McGuckin added that he generally does not sell homes that cost more
than $500,000.
BROKERS DEN
McGuckin said he enjoys working with the Brokers Group because the
office is very active and has a bevy of experience and knowledge.
“We have several people in this office with an average of 20 years
experience for each person,” McGuckin said. “It is always good to have
that type of experience to bounce things off.”
THE SECRET
McGuckin believes he has been able to continually work in this
profession because of the genuine enjoyment and pleasure he receives
from what he does.
“Being able to see the people when they find the right house and to
see the improvement or the step up in their lifestyle is what I look
forward to,” he said. “It’s the best thing about what I do.”
