The Newport Harbor Orchid Society and the UC Irvine Arboretum will
hold their Spring Orchid Show on May 19 and 20. The show will feature
orchid vendors, lectures on orchid care and a variety of demonstrations.
The event will include the Arboretum’s annual spring perennial sale,
featuring unusual perennials from the Arboretum’s collection for
gardeners looking for something different for their gardens. Also at the
show, the Orange County Chapter of the California Native Plant Society
and other local nature groups will present educational displays and
information booths on California’s wild flora.
The show will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3
p.m. Sunday.
Admission is free for children, Friends of the UC Irvine Arboretum and
members of sponsoring orchid societies. It is $2 per person for others.
The UCI Arboretum is south of the corner of Campus Drive and Jamboree
Road on the UC Irvine North Campus.
