Baseball: Pirates’ woes continue
SANTA ANA - The Orange Coast College baseball team had a golden
opportunity to jump right back into the Orange Empire Conference playoff
picture when last-place Irvine Valley stunned fourth-place Cypress, 7-2,
Tuesday.
But the fifth-place Bucs could not take advantage of the gift and fell
to host Santa Ana, 6-0.
OCC managed only two hits against the conference-leading Dons (32-9,
19-4 in conference). A win would have moved the Pirates to within a game
of the Chargers with one conference game remaining.
OCC (23-16, 11-12) will host Irvine Valley Thursday at 2.
