Golf: Pirates place second in OEC final

CHINO HILLS - Orange Coast College’s Brian Winston (72-75--147) and
Jason Woodrome (71-76--147) tied for second individually Monday and the
Pirates finished second out of 10 teams in the 36-hole Orange Empire
Conference season-ending tournament at Los Serranos Golf Course.
The top four teams, along with the top 10 individuals not associated
with a qualifying team, advanced to the Southern California Championships
May 7 in Bakersfield.
Palomar won the OEC title with a 746, followed by OCC (750),
Saddleback (755) and Santiago Canyon (763). Palomar’s Devin Heid shot 142
and earned medalist honors.
Jake Allanach (72-76--148), who finished tied for fourth, Lou Carrasco
(71-78--149) and Mike Akahoshi (77-82--159) also scored for OCC.
