Newport Center Orthopedic will have a 20%-off sale from 10 a.m. to 3
p.m. Saturday for its first Lymphedema Day spring sale. The event will
include guest speaker JoAnn Rovig. In case you didn’t know what
lymphedema is, it’s an abnormal accumulation of fluid anywhere in the
body, but usually in an arm or leg. The fluid buildup usually occurs
after trauma, surgery or radiation. It can also happen at birth. Newport

The March of Dimes WalkAmerica is celebrating its 31st anniversary, and it will be held Sunday at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. The walk
route will start and finish at Fashion Island, and wind through Newport
Beach with a beautiful ocean view. It’s about 5 1/2 miles long.
Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m., and the walk shotgun will go off at
8:15 a.m. WalkAmerica is a national fund-raiser that raised more than $86
million last year for the March of Dimes. The annual event takes place in
1,600 communities across the country and helps raise much needed money to
save babies’ lives. Last year, the Orange County March of Dimes raised
more than $700,000. The organization’s goal is to improve the health of
babies by preventing birth defects, low birth weight and infant mortality
through community services, advocacy, research and education. To get a
