Jr. High basketball: Locals get sportsmanship award

COSTA MESA - The A Division (seventh- and eighth-grade) basketball
team representing Rea School in Costa Mesa has been recognized by the
Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation Board of Directors for
its sportsmanship during the Southern California Tournament, March 24-25.
The team, which won the Costa Mesa city championship to qualify for
the tournament, is coached by Edgar Marquez. Team members are: Jonathan
Aguilar, Mauricio Aguilera, Hugo Escobedo, Brian Molina, Jose Molina,
Richie Molina, Imelda Pena and Jorge Vivar.
The players will be presented certificates honoring their
sportsmanship at the May 2 meeting of the Parks and Recreation Facilities
and Parkways Committee meeting.
