The Daily Pilot asked fifth-graders at Harbor View Elementary in

Corona del Mar: What are your plans for Spring Break?

“I am taking cooking classes. My mom is going to teach me to make a

lot of things like desserts and main dinner dishes. I am going to learn

how to make pie and homemade ice cream. I am also going to learn to make

teriyaki chicken.”

“I am going to Hawaii. We [my family] have a place there on Maui. We

go there two or three times a year. I am probably going to surf most of

the time I am there.”

“We [my family and I] are going to Morrow Bay. My grandparents live

there. I am going to surf and play on the sand dunes.”

“I am going to do everything. I am going to a surfing camp in

Huntington Beach, I think. And I am going to sleep until 12 p.m. And I am going to shop for spring clothes at Fashion Island.”

“My family is going to South Carolina because my mom wants to move

there and see how beautiful it is. Then we are going to North Carolina

because we’re also thinking of moving there. Then we are going to Alabama

to see my uncle’s NASCAR race. I am gonna freak out when I see it.”

“I am going to stay home. My grandma’s going to come over and I am

going to hang out with cousins. I will probably go over to my friend’s

houses a lot. We’ll play on the computer and go skateboarding and play

football.”
