Prep softball: Mesa holds off Laguna Beach

COSTA MESA - The Costa Mesa High softball team gave up a 5-0 lead,
but the Mustangs were able to spoil a Laguna Beach rally with a 6-5
Pacific Coast League victory at TeWinkle Park Thursday.
Mesa senior Cara Molter scored the game-winning run in the bottom of
the seventh inning when Ann Marie Topps’ sharp grounder scored her.
Mustangs senior Ola Wallace earned two RBIs, stole three bases and
scored a run.
Costa Mesa (9-8-1, 3-1 in league) will resume PCL play when it faces
Corona del Mar at TeWinkle Park April 24.
Laguna Beach fell to 8-8, 2-2 in league.
