Wave Runners can’t hold water against Blackhawks

On a day when defensive games seemed to dominate play, the Blackhawks
were the only team to put on an offensive show in Campbell Division
action as they rolled past the Wave Runners, 8-2, at the Coast 2 Coast
Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Caitlin Apostol scored twice and added an assist, Erik Jervik scored
twice, Joshua Swafford scored once and had a pair of assists, Zachary
Beko and Ashley Earl each scored once, Kelly Culhane scored once, and
Connor Culhane had an assist to complete the Blackhawks’ offensive
attack.
Goalie Darrell McDonald recorded 15 saves.
Christopher Johnson scored once with an assist, Brittany Trani scored
once, and goalie Jeffrey Ivora had 15 saves for the Wave Runners.
IN OTHER GAMES:
* Blades 3, Badgers 0
Goalie Brad Janelli posted 13 saves in recording the shutout, and Ryan
Tyson, Charlie Whetzel and Nicholas Kadletz all scored to lead the
Blades.
* Hurricanes 2, Tigers 1
Quinn Piper and Trevor Jackson scored, Mitch Robinson had an assist,
and goalie Matthew Kibler stopped 13 shot attempts for the Hurricanes.
Goalie Matt Bodziak had 17 saves for the Tigers.
* Lazer Blades 2, Intimidators 1
James Andrews scored a pair of unassisted goals in the final period to
rally the Lazer Blades, and goalie David Johnson had 14 saves.
Jordan Matsunaga scored off an Alexander Schaffner assist, and goalie
Sean Wing had 15 saves, for the Intimidators.
IN SQUIRT CLUB DIVISION ACTION:
* X-Press 7, Young Guns 4
Patrick Mask scored two goals and had two assists, Stephanie Martin
and Jason Wall each scored twice, Nick Dlugosz scored once, and Eric Lyon
and Brad Roberts each had an assist to lead the X-Press.
Brock Bowden, Paul Anderson and Christopher Lowry all scored, and John
Thompson had a pair of a assists for the Young Guns.
