Baseball: Pirates prevail over Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD - The Orange Coast College baseball team continues its
domination of the Sequoias Tournament with a 3-0 win over Bakersfield
Wednesday afternoon.
Matt Clanton and Mark Courvoisier combined to hold Bakersfield to only
six hits over nine innings. Clanton struck out eight over six innings,
while Courvoisier earned his third save of the season.
Freshman Greg Trimble went 3 for 4 to pace OCC’s offense. It’s the
10th straight win for the Pirates (21-8) at the Sequoias Tournament.
The shutout was the Pirates’ second of the season. They posted a 2-0
win over Cypress on March 15.
OCC will resume tournament action today against Reedley at 10 a.m. and
Long Beach City at 2 p.m.
