Due to a sewage spill, about 600 feet of coastline off Crystal Cove
State Park was closed to swimming and surfing Tuesday, the Orange County
Health Care Agency’s Environmental Health Department reported.
A sewer line break in the state’s El Morro Beach mobile home park
sewage collection system occurred during an excavation, reported Larry
Honeybourne of the county health care agency. The area -- located 300
feet north and 300 feet south of El Moro Canyon Creek -- will remain
closed until it “meets acceptable standards,” Honeybourne reported in a
released statement Tuesday.
The mobile home park is part of the California Department of Parks and
Recreation.
