Boys tennis: CdM gets past Artists
CORONA DEL MAR - The Corona del Mar High boys tennis team dodged a
pair of bullets to defeat Pacific Coast League visitor Laguna Beach,
11-7, Tuesday.
First, a doubles player did not show up, forcing Coach Tim Mang to
default three doubles sets. Then, singles standout Brian Morton
experienced a flare up of bursitis in his elbow. Morton played through
the pain to split his first two sets, then defaulted his third, as soon
as the team victory was assured.
Bo Weidner, playing in his first varsity match, teamed with Shaan
Wadhwa to sweep at No. 2 doubles to help the Sea Kings improve to 13-0,
6-0 in the PCL.
