Johnson has a no-hit shutout for Yankees

Yankees pitcher Robert Johnson controlled Saturday’s meeting with the
Cardinals, striking out nine while not yielding a hit in a complete game
effort, as the Yankees earned a 6-0 victory in Fountain Valley Little
League Majors Division play.
The Yankees were led on offense by Matt Fink and Mark Cubberly, each
with a single and double.
Gordon Edwards, Zach Cardinelli, Nelson Torche and Taylor Fah all
reached base for the Cardinals, but were unable to score.
In other games:
Devil Rays 10, Dodgers 4 (7 inns.)
The Devil Rays offense was led by Alex Moreno with two doubles, Jeff
Dang singled and tripled, Kevin Smisko singled twice and David Tarbell
doubled.
Joel Stanton singled and scored twice for the Dodgers.
Marlins 4, Mariners 2
The Marlins won behind Jordan Brown’s two singles, a double by Jeff
Spirk and singles by Ryan Haskin, Bobby Johnson, Cameron Hammer and
Mitchell Tezak.
Joe Musser singled, doubled and scored once to lead the Mariners.
MINOR A DIVISION
Dodgers 14, Yankees 9
The Dodgers scored in every inning and held off the Yankees. Kevin
Osaki singled twice and Doug Hanson and Magic Lucio doubled. Chris Hale
singled twice, Elton Stolze doubled and Mike Delicce scored three runs
for the Yankees.
Mets 11, Cardinals 1
Ten different Mets scored in the game and Taylor Stanton had an RBI
single for the Cardinals.
Mariners 11, Diamondbacks 10
The Diamondbacks rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth
inning, only to see the Mariners score in the bottom of the frame to pull
out the win.
Adrian Gomez’s RBI single won the game for the Mariners and Ray
Strazzula and Michael James each doubled.
Tyler Buckles, Jordan Fernandez and Joseph Green each singled for the
Diamondbacks.
