Boys swimming: Eagles fall to Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH - The Estancia High boys swim team dropped a 108-50

Pacific Coast League decision to host Laguna Beach Wednesday afternoon,

despite some improving times for Eagles’ swimmers.

Frank Gamboa improved his personal-best time in the 200-yard

individual medley by over nine seconds with a second-place time of

2:26.55.

David Silva’s second-place time of 1:17.40 in the 100 breaststroke is

his new fastest time.

Kris Hartwell’s 1:20.88 in the 100 backstroke was also a personal-best

for the Eagles. He finished third in the event.

Estancia’s lone win went to Dave Teixeira in the 100 butterfly

(1:12.57).
