COSTA MESA

* Arbor Street: A hit and run was reported in the 900 block at 7:48

a.m. Monday.

* Bristol Street: An auto theft was reported in the 3300 block at 9:45

p.m. Monday.

* Charle Street: Prostitution was reported in the 2000 block at 2:20

p.m. Monday.

* College Drive: Petty theft was reported in the 2400 block at 5:55

p.m. Monday.

* Pomona Avenue: Vandalism was reported in the 1700 block at 10:30

a.m. Monday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* East Pacific Coast Highway: An attempt at vehicle burglary was

reportedly made in the 2200 block when someone used a piece of ceramic to

shatter the right front window at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

* Eastbluff Drive: A staff member at Eastbluff Elementary reported her

megaphone and Walkman were stolen when she left them in the playground at

12 p.m. Saturday.

* West Coast Highway: Use of a controlled substance was reported in

the 2900 block at 1:15 a.m. Saturday.
