* Golf Course Drive: A grand theft was reported in the 1700 block at

11:56 a.m. Sunday.

* Placentia Avenue: Sale of narcotics was reported in the 1800 block

at 2:46 a.m. Sunday.

* Village Way and Harbor Boulevard: Possession of a controlled

substance was reported at 6 a.m. Sunday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* El Modena: A cellular phone, laptop computer and other items worth

about $4,400 were reported stolen in the 500 block at 8:10 a.m. Saturday.

* Newport Boulevard: A soft-top, BMW convertible cover was reported

stolen from a car in the 3100 block at 1:37 p.m. Saturday.

* East Oceanfront: Vandals reportedly threw a paper bag filled with

rocks and shattered a window in the 500 block at 4:09 a.m. Saturday.
