Boys swimming: Sea Kings take care of El Modena

ORANGE - The Corona del Mar High boys swim team posted a 81-62
nonleague win over host El Modena Monday afternoon.
Matt Moyer led the Sea Kings with two individual wins. He won the
200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.51 and followed that with a
winning 100 freestyle time of 52.11, edging out teammate Chriss Street
(52.19).
Street was victorious in the 50 free (23.50), beating out teammate
Bobby Messinger (24.39).
James Strack pulled out a strong win in the 500 free (5:18.73), while
Marcello Pantuliano took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.35).
Also taking first place was Sherwin Kim in the 100 butterfly (1:00.46)
as CdM (3-1) placed first in six out of eight individual events.
The Sea Kings were also dominant in the relay events. The Sea Kings’
200 medley relay foursome of Ali Kattan, Pantuliano, Street and Messinger
hit the wall with a 1:52.66.
Also victorious was the CdM 200 free relay team of Chris Hinger, John
Mann, Travis Pirdy and Strack (1:45.07), as well as the 400 free relay
team of Kim, Mann, John Money and Kattan (3:59.45).
