Club soccer: Sting hang tough in OCU Tournament
The Orange County United Sting, a boys under-19 silver elite team,
had one win and two losses in last weekend’s OCU Tournament.
The Sting lost to the Irvine Strikers, 2-1. David Jenkins scored the
Sting’s lone goal before Irvine battled back.
Ryan Lancaster scored three goals to lead the Sting to a 6-0 win over
Pegasus. Jordan Christian, Brandan Fenno and Jenkins each added single
goals.
In the finale, Lancaster scored again, but the Sting fell to the West
Coast Blue, 3-1.
The remainder of the offense was sparked by Scott Nickerson, Justin
Collins, Troy Davidson, Jose Perez, Chris Baez and B.J. Vandrovec, while
Bijan Ewalt, Jeff Kinkopf, Brian Walton, Chasen Marshall, Brian Henry and
Sam Coons anchored the defense.
