Grace Antiques is a new store that’s opened in the Cannery Village in

Newport Beach. It’s an assortment of mostly furniture and antiques. There

is a Queen Anne black-and-gold chest on a stand, a George III mahogany

library table with a banded top and a George III linen press.

“I also have some hand-painted early Victorian black lacquer tole

tray-on-stands, side tables, chairs and Oriental screens,” says owner

Kristina Grace. “There are lamps and accessories for the home, including

vintage books, candlesticks, paintings and unique silver pieces.”

If you love the Votivo line of scented candles, Grace Antiques carries

them and they make great hostess gifts, as do the hand-dipped natural

beeswax tapers. There is also a selection of topiaries.

Since Grace has school-age children, the hours of the shop cater

around school hours. It’s open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday

and some Saturdays. Appointments are available and encouraged.

Young Seconds has received new shipments from three up-and-coming

children’s wear designers. All of the clothing is brand new and

high-quality infant and children’s clothing priced at wholesale or below.

“These items are not to be missed, as they are some of the best new

styles and designs to be found anywhere,” says Kathy Bell, owner of Young

Seconds. “As always, we hand-select each item to provide our customers

with the best and latest styles in children’s casual to formal clothing.”

The sizes range from infant through teen. Also the popular ski room

still has a nice selection of the latest ski wear and will remain open

through Easter vacation. There’s also beautiful new Easter and First

Communion dresses, maternity wear, children’s furniture, strollers,

Monday. Kaminsky’s speech will give out important information on the

Borders is giving away free turkey kid’s sandwiches this month. Cafe

Espresso, located at the Borders at South Coast Plaza, is celebrating

Borders Explorer month by offering a free turkey sandwich kid’s meal from

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Each meal contains a turkey sandwich,

juice, chips, candy and a gift. The offer is good for children 12 and

younger.

If you’re looking for a photographer that does beautiful work on kids,

try Chi-Lin Chien. I found out about her by stopping by Subtle Tones,

which carries her cards and has examples of her work. The photographs are

beautiful and you can tell she’s very talented.

The prices on pictures vary from $6 for a 4x6 proof print, $45 for a

5x7, $65 for an 8x10, $125 for an 11x14, $275 for a 16x20 and $400 for a

20x24. An additional 50% will be added for a sepia tone. The sitting fee

is $265, and for groups of three or more it’s $290.
