Boys volleyball: CdM splits in OC Tournament

HUNTINGTON BEACH - The Corona del Mar High boys volleyball team

needs a victory over top-seeded Fountain Valley today at 9:15 a.m. to

advance out of pool play to the championship round of the Orange County

Tournament.

Friday, the Sea Kings defeated Long Beach Poly, 12-15, 15-12, 16-14,

in pool play at Huntington Beach High, before falling to Marina, 15-11,

15-4.

Brian Gallagher had 16 kills, Evan Burden 41 assists and Charlie

Alshuler 11 kills and five digs against Long Beach Poly.

Against Marina, Forrest Mack (12 kills) and John Grod (nine) paced the

Sea Kings.
