Softball: Lions sweep past College of Notre Dame

BELMONT - The Vanguard University softball team won its 13th

straight game Tuesday following a doubleheader sweep over host College of

Notre Dame, 5-3, and 10-2.

Cheri Smith went the distance in the opener, allowing only four hits

and three runs. Andrea Saucedo’s two-run triple help spark the Lions’

four-run fifth inning.

Vanguard (16-4) took advantage of six Argonauts errors and cruised to

the win. Saucedo went 3 for 4 with three runs scored while Jill Ramsey

and Rachael Rolle each added two hits and two runs scored.
