Men’s Volleyball: Orange Coast wins 10th straight
EL CAJON - After the first round of Orange Empire Conference play,
the Orange Coast College men’s volleyball team remains undefeated after
winning, 25-13, 23-25, 25-20, 25-10, at defending OEC-champion Grossmont
Friday.
OCC freshman Morgan Jackson, a Corona del Mar High product, finished
with a game-high 14 kills, while B.J. Lightvoet contributed 12. Pirate
sophomore Nick Ptsaschinski had 43 assists and Ed Chun went low for 13
digs.
OCC Coach Chuck Cutenese said he was especially impressed with the
victory because starters, Jeff Taylor, Ryan Owens and Dave Engle were out
with injuries.
“Tonight we really showed our depth,” Cutenese said.
The Pirates (10-0, 5-0 in conference) resume action Wednesday hosting
Santa Monica at 7 p.m.
