Softball: Lions win two extra-inning battles with Concordia

COSTA MESA - Gina Liebengood won both games of a doubleheader as

the Vanguard University softball team won, 1-0, and 4-3, over visiting

Concordia University in Golden State Athletic Conference action Tuesday.

Liebengood threw an eight-inning complete-game shutout for the Lions

(10-6, 4-0 in conference) in the opener and threw 3 2/3 of no-hit relief

to earn the win in the nightcap to improve her record to 7-3.

Nikki Benning and Erin Gomez each had game-winning hits for the Lions.
