A senior theater arts major at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa has

been chosen for the school’s first Outstanding Service Award.

Mandie Carroll was honored for providing outstanding service to the

university and representing its ideals: truth, virtue and service.

She is a member of Vanguard’s admissions recruitment team and has been

involved in service programs on and off campus, including the

university’s student outreach to Mexico, the Hands Across the Border

program.

Carroll has been active in a number of theater department productions,

most recently as director and a featured performer in its first

full-length dance program, “In the Garden.”

Although she will graduate in May, Carroll will return to Vanguard

next year to continue her studies and serve as a resident assistant in a

campus dormitory.
