A 36-year-old man died of his injuries Friday after plunging from the
seventh floor of the Radisson Hotel in Newport Beach, authorities said.
The unidentified man was seen falling by someone on the fourth floor
of the hotel, 4545 MacArthur Blvd., said Capt. John Blauer of the Newport
Beach Fire and Marine Department.
The victim hit the mezzanine roof and landed on the concrete near the
pool area at 10:14 p.m. Thursday, Blauer said.
Twenty minutes later, a helicopter flew the man, then in critical
condition, to Western Medical Center in Anaheim, where he died at 6 a.m.
Friday.
Newport Beach Police Lt. Doug Fletcher said investigating officers
found no evidence of foul play.
