A 36-year-old man died of his injuries Friday after plunging from the

seventh floor of the Radisson Hotel in Newport Beach, authorities said.

The unidentified man was seen falling by someone on the fourth floor

of the hotel, 4545 MacArthur Blvd., said Capt. John Blauer of the Newport

Beach Fire and Marine Department.

The victim hit the mezzanine roof and landed on the concrete near the

pool area at 10:14 p.m. Thursday, Blauer said.

Twenty minutes later, a helicopter flew the man, then in critical

condition, to Western Medical Center in Anaheim, where he died at 6 a.m.

Friday.

Newport Beach Police Lt. Doug Fletcher said investigating officers

found no evidence of foul play.
