Huntington Beach resident James Cucci was named to the College of

Business Administration’s dean’s list for the fall 2000 semester at Cal

State San Marcos. He is the son of Nancy and Jim Cucci of Huntington

Beach . . . Five Huntington Beach High School students were named

National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Program. They

are: Sidat Kumaratne, Vincent Liao, Meghana Mudiyam, Harrison Quitman and

Keith Treiman . . . Army Pvt. Ryan W. Chadwick graduated from basic

military training at Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Mo. During the

training, he received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map

reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness,

first aid and Army history and traditions. He is the son of Jimmy W.

Chadwick of Huntington Beach and Ellen K. Whitney of Irvine . . . Navy

Petty Officer 2nd Class Diane Zulli recently visited Hobart, Tasmania

during a six-month deployment to the Western Pacific Ocean and Arabian

Gulf while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, home

ported in Bremerton, Wash. She is a 1996 graduate of Ocean View High

School and the daughter of Carmela and Joe Zulli of Huntington Beach.
