Students honor Washington, Lincoln
Tamura Elementary School in Huntington Beach held Presidential Day on
Friday for its 90 second-graders. Parents and teachers came together to
plan the day of learning activities that included math, poetry, music and
reading lessons that centered around George Washington and Abraham
Lincoln.
“It’s a culmination of all the things that go on in the classroom,”
said teacher Julie Zaldo.
Wishing Dr. Seuss a happy birthday
Moiola School in Fountain Valley will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday
Friday.
Community members will visit the classrooms to read their favorite Dr.
Seuss books to the students. Teachers and guests are invited to honor the
author by dressing up as the Cat in the Hat.
Students will also read, write and tell stories to each other. School
officials hope the event will help illustrate the importance of reading
at any age in any profession.
