RETAIL ROUNDUP

We recently received a notice about a program that will “bring your
body to a boil.” Somehow, boiling bodies do not sound very healthy to us,
though the people at TUF Productions in Newport Beach thought that was a
good way to introduce us to their new “hot yoga” classes.
In hot yoga, people do stretches in a room that has been heated to
about 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat, they claim, allows your body to
rid itself of toxins, while enabling you to get a deeper stretch. Classes
will begin Monday and cost $10, or $4 for members. Call (949) 646-8828
for more information.
Sweaty bodies, exotic positions -- why do I think there should be an
episode of “Sex in the City” revolving around this?
If the lovely ladies on that soap did show up, they might be wearing
the color palette from Nars called “License to Kill.”
The slim black makeup case, only available at Saks Fifth Avenue stores
-- check out South Coast Plaza, contains eye shadows, blushes and
lipsticks with names such as “Kilimanjaro,” “Copacabana” and “Times
Square.”
“Look out, your new name is ‘danger,”’ says the release.
Maybe not, but you know whose new name that should be? Estelle Schmidt
of Geneseo, Kan., richly deserves that moniker for coming up with the
worst recipe idea we’ve ever heard of -- Spam cupcakes.
You read that right. This small-town cook won Spam’s national recipe
contest. What does that have to do with us here? Nothing, but we’d be
glad to give you the recipe if you want.
