Lakers no match for Electricity

For the second consecutive week, the South Huntington Beach
Electricity rolled up a big advantage by halftime, and then coasted to
victory, this time, defeating the Newport-Mesa Lakers, 37-12, in a girls’
National Junior Basketball game played Sunday at Ensign Middle School in
Newport Beach.
Eileen Flanagan scored 10 points to go along with seven steals, four
assists, and a pair of rebounds as the Electricity improved to 7-0
overall.
Lauren Kaprielian led all scorers with 14 points and Melissa Salcius
had six steals for South Huntington Beach, which took a 20-4 lead at the
half.

South HB 29, FV Hotshots 18
Miranda Baker scored 10 points and had four rebounds and four steals,
Kimberly Rhoten had eight rebounds and seven steals, and Amanda Cecil
played despite a recent elbow operation for a depleted Hotshots squad,
which suited up just six players.
