Girls basketball: Harbor still winless in league

NEWPORT BEACH - The Newport Harbor girls basketball team fell

behind 16-4 in the first quarter and never regained life as the Sailors

suffered a 65-24 Sea View League loss to visiting Irvine (4-1 in league)

Thursday.

Harbor freshman Jillianne Whitfield led the Tars (2-15, 0-5 in league)

with seven points.

The Sailors will host Back Bay rival Corona del Mar Saturday at 7 p.m.
