COSTA MESA

* Bristol Street: Deputies arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of

committing a grand theft that exceeded $400 in the 3300 block at 1 a.m.

Tuesday.

* Charle Street: Deputies arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of

possessing a controlled substance, being under the influence of alcohol

or drugs, being drunk in public, showing false identification to a police

officer and violating his parole in the 2000 at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

* Pomona Avenue: A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of

violating his parole and assaulting someone with a deadly weapon other

than a firearm in the 2000 block at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Newport Beach

* 18th Street and Bay Street: A 40-year-old man was arrested on

suspicion of possessing an illegal narcotic at 3:15 p.m. Monday.

* Newport Center Drive: Deputies arrested a 27-year-old woman on

suspicion of committing a petty theft in the 100 block at 3:20 p.m.

Monday.

* Santa Barbara Drive: A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of

committing a petty theft in the 800 block at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.

* West Balboa Boulevard and 19th Street: Deputies arrested a

24-year-old man on suspicion of showing them false identification at

10:25 p.m. Monday.
